Businessman held for offering mortgaged assets

New Delhi, Nov 23 (PTI) A 55-12 months-previous businessman was on Monday arrested for allegedly promoting mortgaged property in west Delhi’s Punjabi Bagh spot, police claimed.

The accused has been recognized as Jai Bhagwan Singhal, a resident of East Punjabi Bagh, they stated. A circumstance was registered on the grievance of Alok Kumar, authorised agent, Dewan Housing Finance Corporation Ltd (DHFL), from Singhal and some others, police reported. The complainant alleged that Singhal and his loved ones customers availed a personal loan of Rs 4.95 crore towards a plot in East Punjabi Bagh and produced equitable house loan of the property by publishing initial title paperwork of the home, a senior law enforcement officer mentioned. “Just after availing the personal loan, Singhal offered the 2nd floor to one V Sunita Rao for a sale thing to consider of Rs 1,25,50,000. Similarly, the third flooring with stilt and terrace was bought to 1 Anju Saluja for a sale thing to consider of Rs 1,06,00,000 without any authorization from DHFL,” Joint Commissioner of Police (EOW) O P Mishra said. They also filed improper facts with the sub-registrar business office that the property was free from all kinds of encumbrances and home finance loan, the officer reported. During investigation, Singhal was arrested on Monday from the national funds and one day law enforcement custody remand has been acquired, Mishra extra.
