Another appointee from Gov. Kevin Stitt comes to the College of Oklahoma Board of Regents from a small business track record.
The governor announced Friday he chosen Rick Braught, of Duncan, to fill a vacant seat on OU’s top governing board, which also oversees Cameron University and Rogers State University.
Braught is the president of Investors Belief Co. He has led the Duncan-based mostly business enterprise considering that 1996.
He and his wife, Barbara, also own The Territory Golf & State Club, a golfing course and household local community in Duncan.
An OU company graduate, of equally bachelor’s and master’s diploma courses, Braught would fill an unexpired term ending March 21, 2023.

Braught reported he is “honored” to be appointed.

This is Stitt’s second appointment to the OU regents in the previous thirty day period.
The governor chose Inasmuch Foundation CEO Bob Ross on March 30 to provide a seven-yr term. He succeeded retiring board chairperson Michael Cawley, who opted to move down after his time period expired in March.
Pending approval by the state Senate, Braught would be the latest of Stitt’s appointees to appear from a small business or finance-similar job, equally to Cawley and regents Eric Stephenson, Anita Holloway and Rick Nagel.

He was the president of Claremore steel pole maker Pelco Structural till the corporation fired in him 2019. The business later on accused him in courtroom documents of fraud, embezzlement and breach of fiduciary obligation.
Albert alleged in a Rogers County District Court docket lawsuit the firm wrongfully fired him. The lawsuit, submitted in 2019, is however pending.
OU President Joseph Harroz Jr. stated Albert showed an “ardent passion” for the college.
Stitt also was complimentary of Albert pursuing the regent’s resignation.
